About Me
I’m Roadwarrior, a software engineer with a passion for practical, modular tools.
Formidable started as a personal project to streamline my own workflow for structured content, but quickly evolved into something I wanted to share with others.
I enjoy building tools that are flexible enough to adapt to different use cases, yet simple enough to be used daily without getting in the way.
About Formidable
Formidable is a modular desktop application for designing YAML-based templates, filling them out as structured forms, and rendering the result to Markdown, HTML, or PDF through a real Handlebars engine. It’s not just a tool. It’s a platform for building other tools through Lua-based plugins.
The current version is a ground-up rewrite of an earlier Electron build: same templates, same field types, same auditability-by-design stance, but now a single native binary, a proper Go backend, and a built-in REST API with Swagger UI. Every template you design becomes a discoverable contract that external systems can query.
Built with: Wails 3 (Go + native webview), Vue 3 on the frontend, SQLite for sub-millisecond list and search, and gopher-lua for the plugin runtime.
